Introduction
World Series Virtual Racing (WSVR for short)
was formed in January 2011 by a number of UK based members that previously competed in another league but drifted away over
time for similar reasons. We all share a philosophy that on-line racing should be accessible, competitive but ultimately fun.
Our goal is to be a friendly league. providing close, challenging racing for sim-racers of all ages and abilities. We also
firmly believe that hours of setup and practice time should not be a pre-requisite to enjoy competitive events.
Our current member base features sim-racers from a wide age range with experience levels ranging from casual racers to sim league champions and global ranking challengers, all of whom compete together in friendly relaxed but close competition.
At present WSVR offers:
Official hosted fortnightly events.
Exciting event formats.
Carefully selected mods and tracks providing only the best available free content.
Dedicated server and Teamspeak available 24/7 via partners Skyhigh Radio.
An active and friendly community with vibrant forum for discussion of all things related to motorsports and beyond.
Sim Platform
Currently, rFactor is our primary racing platform. It was chosen due to it being the existing software of
choice between our initial members as well as access to additional free content available which remains far beyond what other
titles can offer. Whilst its not a new title, it still arguably offers one of the finest simulation experiences
and recent free add ons proves there is a lot of life in it yet. Looking to the future WSVR will be committed to embracing the best new sim title at a time which is correct for the leagues members. With Rfactor2, GTR3 and a number of other exciting titles in development we will monitor development and select based on league members choice.
Until then to participate in the league, you'll need a copy of rFactor. It can be purchased via most retail game stores, or you can simply download it directly and purchase a license key. To register and join the League simply visit out forums and follow the new member thread.
