BVTCC Round 4 Donington Park Race Report and Highlights
Report Hoggard and Benton took the front row with Benton the first on the Hard tyres. As the lights went green Benton got the jump into turn 1 with Dempsey slotting in behind. Hoggard dropped to third just ahead of Ben Lewis as they began to edge away. Benton pace on the hard was much slower than the medium runners behind and a group was forming behind the leader. Hoggard made his way back to second and made a move stick into turn 1 for first. Lewis then made an amazing move into the chicane on Benton for second and began his charge for the lead.

Donington was providing some fantastic racing through out the field with some great moves being pulled off around the circuit but back up front Lewis took no time in catching Hoggard at the top and the battle was on for the win, and almost made a move stick but Hoggard just did enough to hold him at bay to take a fine win. Lewis finished a brilliant second in front of Dempsey who rounded out the podium spots. Championship leader coming into this round Matt Richards came home in 4th ahead of early race leader Benton, who took his and MK Racing first Indy win of the season coming home in 5th.
Driver Quotes :
P1-Jonathan Hoggard- struggled getting away off the line, but managed to fight my way back into the lead and defend position till the end of the race
P2-Ben Lewis- yeah blimey.. very happy with that. Nearly got Hoggard part way through fair play he kept it in there. I am pretty happy the way I recovered Fair play to Matt, Kyle and Richard it was great fun.
P3- Richard Dempsey– Really good start got into 2nd knowing i had the pace it was all about just keeping on that podium after a bad brands hatch and race with my head, was a really close battle with a few of the guys which was very fair and clean up front, down to the last few laps i had Matt Richards causing me a few issues really attacking me it came down to that last corner and he got me i thought it was a 50 50 thing but he showed true sportsmanship which is a great to see in the BVTCC and gave me the place back, so a great points to start the races off.
Indy Winner -Kyle Benton- Mixed feeling of race 1 to be honest. Qualified very well but picking Hards for race 1 back fired on me. Didn’t have the pace to win or hold podium but happy to finish 5th and top indy. Some brilliant racing with Hoggard, Demps , Lewis and Richards role on race 2
